Lugano – Bioggio is located 2km from the city of Lugano along the North-South axis. Lugano is the economic hub of Canton Ticino and is located in the Sottoceneri. The city is home to 40,000 inhabitants and has its own airport, which is connected with the whole world via Zurich. The closest Italian airport is Milano-Malpensa, which is 50 minutes away (70km). Milan, a city of culture art, and design, is the economic capital of Italy and is 80km away. Lugano can be reached from central Switzerland by train (from Zurich in 2h), by car (200km from Zurich), and by plane (a 30 min flight from Zurich).

Bioggio – The municipality of Bioggio is home to 3000 inhabitants and is located on the right bank of the Vedeggio river, sheltered from the North winds by gentle hills. Geographically it is part of the low valley of the Vedeggio (Sottoceneri), while politically it is part of Malcantone. Bioggio, which is 315 metres above sea level at a higher elevation than the Vedeggio plane, is a sought-after municipality, as shown by the lack of vacant apartments. In addition to its proximity to the city of Lugano, to the airport, and to the North-South axis, the village also owes its appeal to the 60% tax multiplier (2011). Bioggio is surrounded by lush green countryside; it has a total area of 649 hectares, of which 56% is covered with woodland.
